Grandma’s Faith

by Betty Hymas

I am a grandmother of seven grandsons, each of whom I love very much. I enjoy every opportunity I have to spend time with them.

One sweet recollection I have is an invitation to take a nine year old shopping with his birthday money. On the chosen day, I called him that I was ready to pick him up. He was quite upset and told me that his money was missing. He had looked everywhere. He had seen his money just yesterday on his dresser and now it was gone, and he suspected someone had come into the house and taken it.

Birthday Money

I tried to calm him and suggested that I would stay on the phone and that I would say a prayer for him that he could find his money, and that he go back to his room to look once again for the money. In just a couple of minutes he came back to the phone and said, “well that was fast”, he found his money, and it was a sweet, short and spiritual moment for him and for me.
